Founders Group provides comprehensive financial planning services and follows the professionally recognized six step process for financial planning as defined by the College for Financial Planning.
Conceptual Meeting: The initial introductory meeting
requests potential clients to complete and submit a 3-page questionnaire.
Our staff will complete a 10-page conceptual workup (not a financial plan, which
takes about 2 hours to complete). The workup covers the 16 areas of
financial planning showing, in general, where you are weak and strong.
Once completed, we will set an appointment to review the document with you (meeting takes about 2 hours). At this point, the prospective client may engage us for future services based on their needs.
Engagement Letter: This agreement will outline the services and fees both parties have agreed, and you have accepted, should be performed to meet your financial objectives.
Comprehensive Financial Planning: Beginning with the client's current situation, planners assess assets, liabilities, cash flow, taxes, insurance in force and estate planning documentation. Specific goals and objectives are subsequently defined. This process reveals immediate steps needed to meet short-term financial objectives, and define obstacles to overcome for attainment of long-term goals, such as retirement and estate planning.
This is a very detailed and complex process that requires a great deal of information documentation from you, but, the process produces a detailed comprehensive plan. Once all the data is collected (time consuming) it takes about 90-120 days for the data to be input and the plan written. Thereafter, we will set a time to present the plan. More »
Plan of Action: This is an alternative method of financial planning for those not having, attained high income or a large net worth. It is a 6-page checklist covering all of the 12-16 areas of financial planning. Within each area is a breakdown of 5-10 separate items that needs to be completed. The purpose of the "Plan of Action" punch list is to show...what is to be done, who is responsible for it, and when it must be completed.
Implementation: Once the Financial Plan or Plan of Action is completed, the planner and client will set a time table for completion of major items.
Semi-Annual Financial Plan Review: With an ever-changing world and circumstances, clients who have had a Financial Plan or Plan of Action completed must participate in these reviews. The reviews will be completed in January and June/July each year. There will be a complete check up of changes to your financial plan life, new items added and completed items checked off. Educational items are presented on changes in tax laws, estate and retirement plans, and other pertinent subjects.
Investment Policy/Asset Allocation: In tandem with the implementation, a multi-page Investment Policy is created together, and, approved by you. Then, we will prepare a detailed Asset Allocation which will meet your needs. Next, should you desire for specific investments to be reviewed or selected, to have a rebalancing of your qualified plans and/or personal assets a separate fee will be quoted. Accounts may be setup with a custodian of client's choice or Founders Group choice. You are free to implement your asset allocation with anyone.
Semi-Annual Investment Review: Meetings are held in March and September. These meetings are required for all clients. Asset Allocations are reviewed and rebalanced looking out to the future, and, to stay in line with allocation limits. Educational topics are presented on current economic conditions and the future investment impact of these conditions. A detailed analysis of your savings rate and your position in reaching the targeted goals are presented.
